The Legend Behind Echoes of Siam
Long before modern Thailand, there was a story that shaped the nation’s art, architecture, dance, and values. That story is the Ramakien, Thailand’s national epic.
It tells the tale of Phra Ram, a noble prince who embarks on a journey to rescue his beloved wife, Nang Sida, after she is taken by the powerful demon king Thotsakan. Standing beside him is his loyal brother Phra Lak and the legendary monkey warrior Hanuman, whose courage, wit, and unwavering spirit help lead the battle between good and evil.
After an epic journey, Hanuman and the monkey army build a bridge across the sea to reach Lanka. Through bravery, loyalty, and sacrifice, Phra Ram defeats Thotsakan, restores peace, and reunites with Sida. The story ends with justice prevailing and a kingdom ruled with compassion.
